About Us
Principal: Ingrid Escajeda
Currently under a first look deal with Universal Television, Ingrid is a dynamic veteran writer/producer/showrunner who writes both drama and comedy, often in the tone of Elmore Leonard. While her taste spans many genres, she loves to tell riveting, emotional, gritty stories starring underdog characters with a unique tone all her own – she’s always on the lookout for her “fucked up and funny”.
As a producer, Ingrid prides herself in being a champion and "mama grizzly" for fellow scribes. She works hard to inspire, support, promote and most importantly, protect their voices, doing whatever she can to help elevate their projects to the best versions possible whilst making sure they can stay true to themselves and their vision.
Most recently, Ingrid was Executive Producer and Showrunner of Netflix megahit GRISELDA, starring Sofia Vergara as the legendary 1970s Colombian cocaine drug lord, Griselda Blanco. She's also a Writer and Executive Producer on the smash genre hit SILO on Apple TV+, as well as Consulting Producer on FX's critically acclaimed JUSTIFIED: CITY PRIMEVAL. Her additional credits include Amazon's SNEAKY PETE, Fox's EMPIRE, ABC's criminally underappreciated BETTER OFF TED, and of course the OG FX darling, JUSTIFIED.
On the personal front, Ingrid holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UC Berkeley (back when she thought she'd become a doctor) and a Master's Degree in Film/TV Production from USC, yet her background is full of the gritty roots she values. She’s both Latvian and Spanish – her mother is a WWII refugee and first-generation immigrant American, and her father was the first in his large Hispanic family to go to college. A diehard foodie, avid gardener and unabashedly proud cat lady, Ingrid lives in the Hollywood Hills overlooking Hogwarts Castle with her fifty fruit trees and beloved feline moron, Hazel.

Matt finds inspiration in stories that transport us to worlds we’ve never seen, and into depths of the soul we’d rather not. He is excited to come aboard Sugarwitch to help man the sails. To that end, he is on the lookout for fresh scripts and talent that have something new to say.
Joining Sugarwitch after a stint as a Writers’ Room Assistant and Showrunner’s Assistant to Ingrid on Netflix’s GRISELDA, Matt brings along insights he acquired from his time supporting executives in diverse areas of the entertainment industry, including the President of Madrid-based Secuoya Studios and legendary writer/director Rob Reiner. He also cut his teeth working production on multiple sets and as a coordinator supporting the development team at Oxygen.
Matt considers himself a citizen of the world, winding up in central Los Angeles after making the arduous journey from his native West LA. He received an MFA in Film and TV Production from USC, and his BA from Columbia University.
